Rogue Element
Premonition
(Acoustic Wave Records)
Rogue Elements Premonition is fiftynine minutes of solid instrumentals cinematic sonar landscapes created with the help of some apparent obsolete instruments which Rogue Element, Jerome Ramsey and Brendan Pollard, apparently found at some garage sales. Jerome and Pollard didnt tell the owner of the gears that those music machines still have soul and at their own place produced some original compositions that lovers of early seventies electronic music will find satysfing and seductive. Being, behind any genre, Premonition an intruguing and fascinating album it will be of interest even to those are not deep into that musical world. As an all instrumental work of music has all the quality requested: variety, dynamics, a vast choice of sounds. The elder listener will find shades of early Tangerine Dream but younger generation will find it at least unusual and mostly original in its entirety. This is not background atmospheric party music but a very serious attempt to create something unique, upgrading a musical idea left till today to few originators, and Rogue Element deserves wider recognition for having bravely tried it
( and make it !)
