Il nome del gruppo è un omaggio titolo di un album della band inglese dei primi anni settanta Gnidrolog, il titolo dell’album è di un influente programma radiofonico olandese ideato e presentato da Ad Visser (www.advisser.nl) che introdusse i giovani dell’epoca alla musica psichedelica e tra le note sono ringraziati tre componenti dei Gentle Giant. Il messaggio non poteva essere più chiaro!

There’s tons of music for the mind in Lady Lake’s Supercleandreammachine. It is the perfect contemporary progressive album for adult oriented audience who hate prog’s most recent waves and can’t get enough of the past (and there are many…).
The trio – Leendert Korstanje, Fred Rosenkamp, Jan Dubbe – has a strong musicality and a indepth knowledge of harmony and counterpoints which keep the level of the compositions high and with a strong tension as in the opening piece of the resistance 14 minutes long, “the Untold Want”. Best moments are the analogics and “The Chief” with its rock riff is the radio friendly tune of choice.
“Supercleandreammachine” is a solid album that, thanks to the clarity of the musical offer and a vast choice of themes, some pastorals and bucolics (there are cows somewhere in booklet and minimoogs weaving here and there!) some hard edged, makes Lady Lake a band with identity which is big issue in today’s progressive world but, more in general, it is a big issue in any field of art.
The band shows confidence in composing all along the album and if this will lead to more focused, strong, articulated tunes, thinking less for themselves and more for the listeners, Lady Lake’s next step we predict it will be the most successful.
