Founder member in 1974 of the band Heldon, Richard Pinhas can be considered the most important French innovator and experimenter in the field of electronic music. Significantly influenced by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp’s ambient music, Pinhas left his career as a teacher at the University to fully dedicate himself to his music. Recorded between autumn 2005 and spring 2006 and featuring musicians such as Antoine Paganotti (Magma) and Alain Renaud, Didier Batard and Patrick Gauthier (ex members of Heldon), Metatron is a synthesis of Phinas’ music. Psychedelic and fascinating, the album is over two hours of flowing and spacey landscapes. Particularly adviced to the fans of this kind of music, the album will immerge any kind of open-ears listener into his magic and intriguing atmosphere.
