The Crank Bros. - Black Midnights, Stars & Streetlights
(Universal music Norway)

Pure, genuine blues with a true feeling. Simple and straight, looking back to the classics but able to update them to the contemporary music world. These are the ingredients that make The Crank Bros' debut album so convincing. The name of the band is new, but the same can't be said for the mind and the author behind this project. Guitar player with the big Norwegian blues act Good Time Charlie until 2004, Kjetil Grande is quite a well known name in the Norwegian blues scene. His debut solo album “Uppers Downers Screamers & Howlers” was awarded “Best blues album” at the Norwegian Grammys in 2007. He toured with many famous rock & pop artists in his home country, before teaming with Gunnar Sæter (drums) and Audum Ramo(bass) to give birth to The Crank Bros.
Chunky and punchy enough on sparkling self-penned tracks such as “I did what I did cause I do what I do” and “The Big Deep”, at the same time the album includes heartfelt and intimate songs such as their version of T-Bone Walker's Get These Blues Off Me.
With a slightly 50s sound (thanks to the contribution of Morten Martens that recorded and mixed it), this mixture of classics and originals is exactly what you would expect from a good blues album.
